A free community event celebrating Turkish food, culture and heritage is coming to Twickenham — and no booking is required.
'A Taste of Türkiye' is being held at the Civic Centre on 44 York Street, Twickenham, TW1 3BZ, and promises an evening of food, music and games alongside a guided introduction to ten iconic Turkish landmarks and UNESCO World Heritage Sites, led by an experienced teacher. It's a drop-in format, so residents can arrive at any point during the event without needing to register in advance.
The evening is supported by the council's 'Loved & Wanted Here' campaign, which aims to help Richmond's diverse communities feel at home in the borough. Everyone is welcome, regardless of background or prior knowledge of Turkish culture.
Note that the Civic Centre's standard opening hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm — the event itself is an evening occasion outside those hours, so it's worth checking the council's event page for the confirmed start time and any updates before heading along.
